When Missouri wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. received a Texas A&M blanket upon his arrival at the team's College Station hotel, it seemed like harmless trash talk prior to a top-25 SEC matchup. Or was it? Aggies head coach Mike Elko suggested the blanket may have been an inside job.
On Friday night, Wease posted a picture of a Texas A&M blanket that greeted him in his hotel room. Accompanying the blanket was a note that was addressed from Aggies cornerback Mike "The Blanket" Lee. It read, "Get used to the blanket... it will be real tomorrow."
Wease wore the blanket to Kyle Field and walked around with it on during warmups. Unfortunately for Wease and the Tigers, that bulletin board material didn't give them much of a spark.
Texas A&M CB Will Lee III, nicknamed 'The Blanket', sent a blanket with a note to Mizzou WR Theo Wease Jr. before today's matchup.

Texas A&M smashed Missouri, 41-10, and it was a long day for the Tigers' offense. Wease did get loose for a 59-yard touchdown catch in the second half, but the game was well out of reach by then.
It seemed like Lee had backed up his trash talk until Elko took the stand for his postgame press conference. Asked about the blanket, Elko said it didn't come from anyone at Texas A&M. Instead, he pointed the finger at Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz.
"My suggestion would be you guys should go as Eli where that came from because I have a strong feeling that came from the other side and had nothing to do with Texas A&M, Will Lee or anyone over here," Elko said. "So you should point that one on the other side."
Drinkwitz wasn't asked about the blanket, so we may never know exactly how it wound up in Wease's hotel room. No matter who the culprit is, Missouri will probably just want to forget the trip altogether.
