The NCAA transfer portal cycle for the 2025 college football season officially opened Monday, Dec. 9 and will close on Saturday, Dec. 28. Though some players have announced their intentions to transfer prior to Monday, they could not officially enter the portal until it opened.

Given that thousands of FBS players enter the portal each cycle and NIL has become a differentiating factor in player acquisition, expect to see plenty of movement this offseason in what has become one of the most important periods on the college football calendar.

In addition to the notable transfer players that will be listed below as the process continues over the next month, keep it locked here as CBS Sports and 247Sports cover the transfer portal window from top to bottom with a live tracker, updated rankings and much more. What Micah Hudson to Texas A&M means for Aggies

Following a strong close to the 2025 cycle ahead of the early signing period, Texas A&M has been aggressive looking to address some remaining needs in the transfer portal. Wide receiver has been viewed as a top potential need for the Aggies heading into the winter window and A&M wasted no time addressing it with one of the top players available.

Texas Tech transfer Micah Hudson committed to Texas A&M on Sunday night coming off a midweek visit with the Aggies. Hudson is rated as the No. 11 overall prospect and No. 5 wide receiver in the transfer portal, according to the initial 247Sports transfer rankings. A year ago, Hudson was a five-star recruiting prospect who was Texas Tech's highest-ranked signee in program history. Unlike his class of 2024 peers like Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams, he did not break through as a freshman and hit the portal.

Coming off the trip to the Aggies this week, Hudson delivered strong feedback as he got to spend time with Mike ElkoHolmon Wiggins and several other members of the staff.

"It's just very welcoming," Hudson told 247Sports. "Being able to be around good-hearted people and getting questions answered that I needed to get answered, I was able to feel like myself and be around the culture. I got to see something that felt really good to see because I saw the difference with this year's staff and last year's staff."

Hudson could be Texas A&M's alpha receiver in 2025.
