NCAA transfer portal 2025: Live updates, college football transfer tracker, news powered by 247Sports

The NCAA transfer portal cycle for the 2025 college football season officially opened Monday, Dec. 9 and will close on Saturday, Dec. 28. Though some players have announced their intentions to transfer prior to Monday, they could not officially enter the portal until it opened.

Given that thousands of FBS players enter the portal each cycle and NIL has become a differentiating factor in player acquisition, expect to see plenty of movement this offseason in what has become one of the most important periods on the college football calendar.

In addition to the notable transfer players that will be listed below as the process continues over the next month, keep it locked here as CBS Sports and 247Sports cover the transfer portal window from top to bottom with a live tracker, updated rankings and much more. Weigman lands at Houston

Former Texas A&M starting quarterback Conner Weigman has committed to Houston after three years with the program. Weigman was No. 3 quarterback and a marquee five-star recruit in the Aggies' historic 2022 recruiting class and showed promise with 979 yards and 10 total touchdowns in four games in 2023 before suffering a season-ending injury. However, he struggled under first-year offensive coordinator Collin Klein, throwing three touchdowns to five interceptions and connecting on only 56.1% of his passes before getting benched for Marcel Reed.

The commitment to Houston represents a return to his hometown for the Bridgeland, Texas, native. He enters an offense under coach Willie Fritz that ranked as one of the worst in college football in 2024 and recently hired ex-Tulane coordinator Slade Nagle to revamp the unit. Weigman will compete with underclassman Zeon Chriss for the starting job in 2025.
