NCAA transfer portal 2025: Live updates, college football transfer tracker, news powered by 247Sports

The NCAA transfer portal cycle for the 2025 college football season officially opened Monday, Dec. 9 and will close on Saturday, Dec. 28. Though some players have announced their intentions to transfer prior to Monday, they could not officially enter the portal until it opened.

Given that thousands of FBS players enter the portal each cycle and NIL has become a differentiating factor in player acquisition, expect to see plenty of movement this offseason in what has become one of the most important periods on the college football calendar.

In addition to the notable transfer players that will be listed below as the process continues over the next month, keep it locked here as CBS Sports and 247Sports cover the transfer portal window from top to bottom with a live tracker, updated rankings and much more. Transfer portal visits that have our attention

Transfer portal scoop, 72 hours in, is migrating from "who's in" to "where are they going?" We've got you covered. In an article for 247Sports subscribers, Chris Hummer and I lay out what we're hearing with visits scoop. It's for subscribers only -- what are you waiting for? -- but here's a sneak peek.

ERIC SINGLETON, GEORGIA TECH WR

247Sports rank: No. 1 WR, No. 1 overall

Eric Singleton is wrapping up a Thursday visit to Auburn and then visiting Ole Miss this weekend, per sources. Other teams, such as Georgia, are also pursuing Singleton and still hoping to get him on campus at some point. But Auburn and Ole Miss seem to be the top two for him at the moment.

MICAH HUDSON, TEXAS TECH WR

247Sports rank: No. 6 WR, No. 14 overall

Micah Hudson took a visit to Texas A&M earlier this week, and there's a lot of momentum between the two sides, per sources. Other schools, such as LSU, are still hopeful to set up a visit with Hudson. However, as of Wednesday, nothing had been set.

BEAR ALEXANDER, USC DL

247Sports rank: No. 3 DL, No. 22 overall

Bear Alexander visited SMU this week and may be visiting Penn State in the near future, per sources. Oregon is also involved with Alexander, who had 47 tackles in 2023 for USC before redshirting this season.
