NCAA transfer portal 2025: Live updates, college football transfer tracker, news powered by 247Sports

The NCAA transfer portal cycle for the 2025 college football season officially opened Monday, Dec. 9 and will close on Saturday, Dec. 28. Though some players have announced their intentions to transfer prior to Monday, they could not officially enter the portal until it opened.

Given that thousands of FBS players enter the portal each cycle and NIL has become a differentiating factor in player acquisition, expect to see plenty of movement this offseason in what has become one of the most important periods on the college football calendar.

In addition to the notable transfer players that will be listed below as the process continues over the next month, keep it locked here as CBS Sports and 247Sports cover the transfer portal window from top to bottom with a live tracker, updated rankings and much more. My Crystal Ball pick for Walker Howard

Louisiana has emerged as the likely landing spot for former blue-chip recruit QB recruit Walker Howard, per a source. I've made my Crystal Ball pick accordingly

It would be a return home for the Lafayette, Louisiana native, who spent the two last seasons at Ole Miss after beginning his college career at LSU.

Howard ranked as the fifth-best QB recruit and 40th-best overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class.

Latest on OU WR transfer Anderson

Former Oklahoma wide receiver Nic Anderson is expected to be one of the top available pass catchers in the transfer portal. Three schools to watch for his services include LSU, Ole Miss and Florida, according to 247Sports' Mike Roach. Anderson caught 38 passes for 798 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2023 but missed the entire 2024 campaign due to injury.
