Penn State has a star in running back Saquon Barkley, but so far in 2016 the player getting the most headlines for the Nittany Lions is kicker Joey Julius.

The 5-10, 260-pound kicker developed a reputation in the Big Ten after delivering a few big hits on kickoffs. That reputation may have contributed to what is becoming a trend of opponents targeting Julius in the open field.

Last week it was Minnesota's Jaylen Waters, this week it's Maryland's Isaiah Davis. Both players were ejected from the game.

Julius quickly became known on the field for his hard hits, but he's also becoming one of the Big Ten's most notable personalities off the field as well. Just this week, Julius shared a Facebook post commenting on his experience with an eating disorder.
