Missouri State at No. 22 Kansas State

Kickoff: Saturday, 7 p.m. ET (KSHDTV)

Watchability: The best reason to tune in is to see if Kansas State repeats the performance it gave in last year's opener. The Wildcats barely snuck past FCS Eastern Kentucky 10-7, quickly droppings their fans' expectations, but that quickly changed. Missouri State, however, should not be much of a challenge since the Bears won just two games in 2011.

Shining stars: Missouri State: TE Matt Thayer is regarded as one of the best tight ends in FCS. He caught 20 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns in 2011. Kansas State: QB Collin Klein amassed 40 touchdowns last season and was one of the toughest players in the country to tackle. Klein should have few problems racking up the yards against the Bears, who allowed an average of 205 rushing yards per game last season.

Who could steal the show: Missouri State: Mizzou transfer QB Ashton Glaser is playing his first game as a Bear. Coach Terry Allen has yet to name a starter, but even if Glaser doesn't start, he should at least get some playing time. Glaser is a former running back and could present some challenges to the K-State defense as a dual-threat QB. Kansas State: The Wildcats do not need a big performance from Klein to win this game and might even want to keep the wear and tear on their senior QB to a mininum. This could mean Klein will handle the ball off often to RB John Hubert, who ran for 907 yards last season.

You going? Ranking the road trip: K-State has sold out its first four home games and the buzz is back in Manhattan after last year's 10-win season. The opponent is weak, but Bill Snyder Family Stadium should be juiced for the opener.

Magic number for K-State: 41-2. K-State is 41-2 in September home games under Bill Snyder since 1992. That record should move to 42-2 after Saturday.

Magic number for Missouri State: 2. As in the second quarter. The Bears were outscored 102-36 last year in the second quarter.

This game comes down to: Focus. Last year, Snyder wasn't pleased with his team's performance in the opener and understandably so. What made the Wildcats great the rest of the season was attention-to-detail and limiting mistakes. As long as they don't get in their own way against Missouri State, this should be a blowout.

Prediction: Kansas State 52, Missouri State 10.
