Washington State (1-1, 0-0 Pac-12) at UNLV (0-2, 0-0 MWC)

Kickoff: Friday, 9 p.m. ET (ESPN)

Spread: Washington State by 8.5. 

Watchability: The only reason to watch this game is if you're in Vegas and that point spread could affect your bank account. Otherwise just catch the highlights on Saturday morning. 

Shining Stars: Washington State: WR Marquess Wilson. Wilson, a CBSSports preseason All-American, has gotten off to a slow start this season with only four catches in each of the Cougars' first two games. However, don't count Wilson out yet -- it was Week 3 last year when Wilson exploded on to the national scene with a six-catch, 236-yard performance against San Diego State. UNLV: RB Tim Cornett. Cornett has been one of the few bright spots for UNLV during the team's 0-2 start. The junior running back has scored three of the Rebel's five touchdowns this season and he ranks 10th in the nation in rushing yards per game (134).     

Who could steal the show: Washington State: QB Connor Halliday. It hasn't been confirmed that Halliday will be the Cougars starting QB Friday, but with Jeff Tuel nursing a knee injury, there's a good chance Halliday will get the call. If Halliday lights up UNLV, Washington State fans might clamor for him to get the starting job permanently. UNLV: DL James Boyd. The dangerous Boyd ranks second in the MWC with two sacks this season. The junior defensive lineman could cause trouble for the Cougars on Friday as he'll be going up against either a hobbled Tuel or a newly starting Halliday.  

You going? Ranking the road trip: UNLV may not be a hotspot for tailgating, but Las Vegas is a hotspot for everything else. The game's on a Friday, which gives fans the perfect excuse to spend the weekend in Vegas. 

Magic number for Washington State: 5-0. The Cougars are a perfect 5-0 against UNLV. WSU has played the Rebels in Las Vegas one time in school history, a 40-13 win in 1991. 

Magic number for UNLV: 4-11. The Rebels don't have great track record against Pac-12 competition. In 15 total games, UNLV is 4-11, including five losses to Washington State.  

The game comes down to: Air Raid. Mike Leach's Air Raid offense isn't something that can be installed overnight, however WSU has looked more comfortable running it each week. Sooner or later, things are going to click for the Cougars and they're going to score some points. This week seems like a good week for that to happen. 

Prediction: Washington State 30, UNLV 13
