Here's a look at some of Thursday's headlines from across SEC country as fall camp rolls on:
- Coach Will Muschamp thinks the Gators' new offense will cause opposing defenses to have missed assignments. Offensive coordinator Brent Pease uses a variety of shifts and motions to keep defenses honest.
- Alabama veteran WRs Kevin Norwood and Kenny Bell are being pushed in practice by several freshmen. "You've got other players just as good as you, so you've got to push yourself hard," Bell said.
- Mississippi State must find a way to replace RB Vick Ballard. It has four solid options in Josh Robinson, LaDarius Perkins, Nick Griffin and Derrick Milton.
- Texas A&M returns three LBs who saw extensive action in 2011. They say they are ready to take on any type of SEC offense. “Florida opens it up a bit, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Ole Miss. Not every team is straight two-back, iso, power football,” LB Jonathan Stewart said. “They’ll spread you out."
- QB Aaron Murray, RB Todd Gurley and WR Marlon Brown all had strong performances in Georgia's scrimmage on Wednesday. "He has started hot," coach Mark Richt said of Brown. "He’s been hot this whole camp. He’s been outstanding. We’re all just praying that he stays healthy and he does well."
