Immediately after Texas finished its demolition of Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry on Saturday, the Longhorns fired some strays at former Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield. Texas players speared a team flag through a Mayfield jersey at midfield, but Longhorns linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. insists it wasn't personal.
The Horns had good reason to celebrate after their 34-3 win over their bitter rivals, and they made the most of it. In the midst of the jubilation, Hill laid down a Mayfield jersey on the midfield logo while edge rusher Barryn Sorrell shoved a Texas flag right through it.

Hill also posted a photo of himself with the ripped Mayfield jersey in the locker room after the game.

During his Monday media availability, Mayfield was given the opportunity to respond to Hill's actions. The Oklahoma legend said he was flattered that the Longhorns are still thinking about him to this day.
"That's just a kid from Austin, Texas that went to Oklahoma and won his last two Red River games being rent-free in their heads for almost a decade now," Mayfield said. "Yeah, it's a good feeling."
When Hill fielded questions about it, he said it wasn't meant as disrespect to Mayfield. Hill explained that it was the first jersey a fan gave him, and Mayfield's name and number just happened to be on the back.
"A fan had gave me that jersey, just a random Texas fan," Hill said. "That was just the first jersey that I had that was OU, so we just kinda used that. No hate for Baker Mayfield. I'm actually a big fan. I watched him play in college. There's no hate. That was just the first jersey I'd seen, so we're just gonna leave it at that."
This exchange just closes another chapter in the rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but now the Longhorns have to refocus their attention on Georgia quickly. The Horns will host the Bulldogs in a top-five matchup on Saturday night.
