Five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench announced his commitment to Texas on Friday morning, giving the Longhorns a significant Class of 2025 victory one day before they take the field to open their 2024 season against Colorado State. Ffrench, who chose Texas over Miami, LSU and Tennessee, is the third five star to commit to the Longhorns in the month of August.
He follows safety Jonah Williams and wide receiver Kaliq Lockett, both products of the Texas high school football scene.
"Oh yeah, it's 110% done, Texas all the way. No more visits. Only visits are to Texas." Ffrench told 247Sports' Tom Loy.
Ffrench, who plays at Jacksonville, Florida's Mandarin High School, is the No. 25 prospect nationally and No. 4 wide receiver in the 2025 class. With Lockett, who is the No. 2 wide receiver, Texas is one of just two schools -- with Oregon -- to currently hold a commitment from two top-10 wide receivers.
This is also the second straight class that Texas has landed a five-star wide receiver, and third straight class that the Longhorns have managed to pull in a top-10 player at the position. Ryan Wingo, who was the No. 32 prospect nationally in 2024, had an impressive offseason with Texas and may see immediate laying time as a true freshman.
Ffrench's high school coach told Horns247's Hank South that Ffrench is "one of one."
"He's an exceptional talent but not probably why people think," Tony Bullock said. "In the football world, not everybody is a natural pass catcher. And he is."
