The Tennessee Titans had near-perfect attendance Saturday at their first practice of training camp. The Titans were thin at WR as two of three potential starters were missing.
Who's here: C Eugene Amano and RG Leroy Harris took the majority of the reps with the first-team Saturday. Amano (knee, ankle) and Harris (shoulder) missed a large portion of OTAs last month. The Titans have 14 offensive linemen on the roster. OLs Fernando Velasco, Kevin Matthews and William Vlachos are competing with Amano for starting C. “Our concern back then was Eugene and Leroy weren’t practicing during OTAs,” coach Mike Munchak said. “We were a little nervous about our numbers there. We'll be okay assuming we're healthy.” Late in Saturday's practice, WR Nate Washington remained on the ground for about a minute after reaching for a pass from Matt Hasselbeck. The Titans' leading receiver in 2011 appeared to be clutching his back but said later that he just experienced minor cramps. “It was a hot day out there,” Washington said. “You have to make sure you stay hydrated.”
Who's not: Kenny Britt (knee) will remain on the PUP list until he passes a physical and first-round pick Kendall Wright cannot practice until he is signed. Wright and Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon are the only two first-round picks that have yet to sign with their respective teams. Two undrafted rookie free agents -- WRs Devin Aguilar and O.J. Murdock -- also missed Saturday's afternoon practice. Murdock is recovering from an Achilles injury but was excused from practice for personal reasons. Former C Jon Cooper has accepted a coaching position at the University of Oklahoma and has retired. S Markelle Martin (knee) also remains on the PUP list. Martin, a seventh-round pick, underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this week. Martin suffered a torn right meniscus in February.
