The Colorado Buffaloes don't shy away from a little trash talk under head coach Deion Sanders, but sometimes it blows up in their face. That was the case for Colorado defensive back Shilo Sanders, who had a lot to say at the coin toss ahead of his team's recent loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
In a behind-the-scenes video posted by the Huskers, Sanders wanted all the smoke when the team captains met at midfield. Sanders told the Nebraska captains the Buffs were about to "roll" them.
"We about to roll your ass," Sanders said. "Boy, you know we about to roll you, bruh."
In a sign of things to come, Nebraska won the toss and elected to defer. That was about the last time the game was even within reach for Sanders and the Buffaloes.
After the opening kickoff, the Huskers were the ones doing the rolling. They jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half and cruised to a 28-10 win. The Nebraska defense held an explosive Colorado in checking, allowing just 260 yards of total offense.
Sanders also left the game with an arm injury, and he underwent surgery to repair it this week. Deion Sanders said Shilo is expected to miss two to three weeks, which means the Colorado defense will be without him for at least the next two games against Colorado State and Baylor.
