When Florida State fans heard that Showtime would be behind the scenes during the 2016 season, there's no way they imagined the first five weeks playing out like this. Instead of locker room celebrations, "A Season with Florida State Football" has highlighted the human side of losing.
Those cameras are going to be in the locker room whether they win or lose, and after North Carolina kicker Nick Weiler hit a 54-yard field goal and tomahawk chopped his way down the field the show reveals a somber mood in the FSU locker room.
After the game, Jimbo Fisher shouldered much of the blame for the 37-35 loss to the Tar Heels, promised better coaching and challenged the players to search inside for inspiration the rest of the season after starting 3-2.
"We got a lot of football left to play this season. You guys played your heart and soul out, you're a good football team," Fisher said. "Nobody hang your head, it ain't nobody's fault. It's my fault. I'm the head coach, I let it happen. It's on me. I'll coach you better, we will play better, then we will do better.
"Now you're going to find out who you really are as a person. You've got to stick together. This room is what matters."
There is no better way for Florida State to bounce back than if the Seminoles can win on Saturday against Miami. Currently, the Hurricanes are listed as 3.5-point favorites in the matchup.
