The No. 16 Kansas State Wildcats probably need to win the Big 12 Championship to reach the College Football Playoff, which means they need to win against Arizona State this weekend. Meanwhile, the Sun Devils are 4-2 in conference play, and they still have hope of playing for a conference title.
Following an inexplicable loss to Houston, Kansas State got a bye week to regroup. Now, the Wildcats will need some help if they want to reach the Big 12 Championship. If they are going to do that, they'll need quarterback Avery Johnson to find some consistency. Johnson threw for 238 yards and a score while also throwing a pair of key interceptions in his last game.
Kansas State will also need to get running back DJ Giddens in gear after he averaged 2.9 yards per carry against the Cougars.
On the other sideline, Arizona State is 4-1 in its last five games, and all three phases of the game were key. The offense found the ens zone three times, but defense and special teams also put touchdowns on the board. The Sun Devils will need another all-round effort against his weekend.
As this matchup gets closer, keep an eye on the status of Arizona State' star running back Cam Skattebo. He leads the Sun Devils in rushing with 1,001 yards but missed last weekend's game.
