The Indiana train just keeps on rolling, and that locomotive is making a stop in East Lansing for a game against Michigan State this weekend. The No. 13 Hoosiers can advance to 9-0 with a win over the Spartans as they keep cruising through the Big Ten.
Indiana just handled its business against Washington with a 31-17 victory last weekend, and it did so without starting quarterback Kurtis Rourke. Tayven Jackson filled in admirably, and he totaled 131 yards a pair of touchdowns. Running back Justice Ellison was the offensive engine with 123 rushing yards and one score.
The defense did its part, holding the Huskies to 318 total yards and forcing two turnovers. The Hoosiers will need another good defensive showing against Aidan Chiles, who has shown he can make big plays for Michigan State.
The Spartans are coming off a disappointing rivalry loss to Michigan, and their offense was foiled by its inability to finish drives. Michigan State out-gained its in-state rival by 86 yards but still only put up 17 points on the day. That won't cut it against Indiana either.
The Michigan State defense did hold its own, limiting the Wolverines to 265 yards and just 149 through the air, but the Hoosiers present a much bigger challenge on that side of the ball.
