Cotton was waived by the Dolphins on Monday, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Cotton's exit comes as the team activated Isaiah Wynn (quadriceps) from the reserve/PUP list and needed to open up a roster spot to do so. It's possible the 28-year-old could find a spot on the team's practice squad, assuming he clears waivers.

Lester Cotton: Joins Dolphins' practice squad
Miami signed Cotton to its practice squad Tuesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Less than a week after being waived by Las Vegas, Cotton has already found another opportunity to make an impression with the Dolphins. The team is thin on the interior of their offensive line, so Cotton could see himself called up to the active roster sooner rather than later.

Lester Cotton: Let go by Las Vegas
The Raiders waived Cotton (calf) from injured reserve Thursday.
Cotton, who was placed on injured reserve with a calf issue Dec. 3, has since been let go by the Raiders after serving as a special-teams contributor throughout most of the season. The 335-pounder is now slated to suit up elsewhere once he's able to prove that his health is no longer a concern.
