Seahawks' Chazz Surratt: Returns from IR
Surratt (ankle) was activated from IR on Tuesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Surratt had missed the Seahawks' last eight games due to an ankle injury, but it now appears he's got a chance to return for a Super Bowl LX matchup against the Patriots. The North Carolina product was a key special-teams contributor for Seattle this season, recording 11 total tackles across 11 appearances. He's likely to play a similar role if he's active for Sunday's contest.

Seahawks' Chazz Surratt: Ruled out for Sunday
Surratt (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Rams, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Surratt logged full participation in consecutive practices Wednesday and Thursday but will remain on injured reserve for Sunday's contest. The depth option at linebacker is primarily a special-teamer, logging just seven defensive snaps over 11 games this season. If the Seahawks can beat the Rams and advance to the Super Bowl, Surratt may be called upon to provide additional defensive depth.

Seahawks' Chazz Surratt: Staying on IR for divisional round
Surratt (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's NFC divisional-round game against the 49ers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Surratt landed on injured reserve in late November due to an ankle injury he sustained in Week 12 against the Titans. He was designated to return from IR on Tuesday, and despite ending the week with back-to-back full practices, Surratt has not been cleared to return. His next chance to play would be in the NFC Championship Game if the Seahawks were to win Saturday's contest.

Seahawks' Chazz Surratt: Designated for return to practice
The Seahawks designated Surratt (ankle) to return from injured reserve Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Surratt will have his 21-day practice window open in preparation for Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the 49ers. The depth linebacker is recovering from an ankle injury suffered Week 12 versus the Titans, prior to which he had operated as one of Seattle's top playmakers on special teams.

Seahawks' Chazz Surratt: Lands on injured reserve
The Seahawks placed Surratt (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Surratt injured his ankle during the Seahawks' opening kickoff against the Titans in Week 12. The injury is severe enough for the fifth-year pro to go on IR, though since he's mostly served on special teams this season, his absence won't impact Seattle's depth at linebacker all too much. Surratt will be required to miss at least the next four games, which makes Week 17 against the Panthers on Saturday, Dec. 27 the earliest he can be activated from IR.

Seahawks' Chazz Surratt: Could be slated for IR stint
Seattle coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that a stint on IR is a possibility for Surratt (ankle), Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Surratt was hurt Sunday against the Titans during a kickoff. Macdonald's comments suggest the injury is more than minor, though the head coach also stated placement on IR for Surratt and other Seahawks players "is really going to be a function of how some of these tests come back and how they progress throughout the rest of the week." Surratt has played almost exclusively on special teams this season, so any time he misses will primarily affect that unit.

Seahawks' Chazz Surratt: Won't return due to ankle injury
Surratt (ankle) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Titans, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Surratt sustained the injury during the first quarter on a kickoff, and he will not return to Sunday's game after being evaluated by medical staff. Ernest Jones (knee) and Tyrice Knight (concussion) are inactive for Week 12, so with Surratt done for the day, Patrick O'Connell should see more defensive snaps at inside linebacker alongside starter Drake Thomas.

Seahawks' Chazz Surratt: Joins Seahawks
Surratt signed with the Seahawks on Thursday.
Surratt spent the last three years with the Jets but signed with the 49ers this offseason. He wasn't able to make the final roster in San Francisco, though he'll now land his next opportunity in Seattle. Surratt should contribute primarily on special teams.

49ers' Chazz Surratt: Sits out preseason opener
Surratt (undisclosed) did not play in Saturday's 30-9 preseason loss to the Broncos, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Surratt is dealing with an undisclosed injury, which forced him to miss the team's preseason opener with Denver. Head coach Kyle Shanahan did not mention Surratt while he was naming players Sunday who "could" return Saturday versus the Raiders, so Surratt may be dealing with more than a minor injury.

Jets' Chazz Surratt: Sees more defensive work in 2024
Surratt recorded 28 total tackles (18 solo) over 17 games in 2024.
The 2021 third-round pick from North Carolina played a career-high 127 defensive snaps during the regular season after playing just nine defensive snaps over his first three seasons in the NFL. Surratt logged 15 or more defensive snaps in four games this year, recording 11 total tackles in those contests. He's set to become a restricted free agent this summer, giving the Jets the option to match any contract he receives from other teams. If Surratt remains with the Jets in 2025, he's expected to serve as one of the team's top reserve inside linebackers.

Jets' Chazz Surratt: Will play vs. Houston
Surratt (heel) is active for Thursday night's game against the Texans.
Surratt was a limited practice participant Tuesday and Wednesday, and while he is unlikely to be fully healed from his heel injury, he will suit up for Thursday's contest. Surratt could start at middle linebacker due to C.J. Mosley (neck) being inactive.
