Surratt (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Rams, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Surratt logged full participation in consecutive practices Wednesday and Thursday but will remain on injured reserve for Sunday's contest. The depth option at linebacker is primarily a special-teamer, logging just seven defensive snaps over 11 games this season. If the Seahawks can beat the Rams and advance to the Super Bowl, Surratt may be called upon to provide additional defensive depth.

Surratt (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's NFC divisional-round game against the 49ers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Surratt landed on injured reserve in late November due to an ankle injury he sustained in Week 12 against the Titans. He was designated to return from IR on Tuesday, and despite ending the week with back-to-back full practices, Surratt has not been cleared to return. Surratt will have his 21-day practice window open in preparation for Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the 49ers. The depth linebacker is recovering from an ankle injury suffered Week 12 versus the Titans, prior to which he had operated as one of Seattle's top playmakers on special teams.

Surratt injured his ankle during the Seahawks' opening kickoff against the Titans in Week 12. The injury is severe enough for the fifth-year pro to go on IR, though since he's mostly served on special teams this season, his absence won't impact Seattle's depth at linebacker all too much. Surratt will be required to miss at least the next four games, which makes Week 17 against the Panthers on Saturday, Dec. 27 the earliest he can be activated from IR.

Seattle coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that a stint on IR is a possibility for Surratt (ankle), Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Surratt was hurt Sunday against the Titans during a kickoff. Macdonald's comments suggest the injury is more than minor, though the head coach also stated placement on IR for Surratt and other Seahawks players "is really going to be a function of how some of these tests come back and how they progress throughout the rest of the week." Surratt has played almost exclusively on special teams this season, so any time he misses will primarily affect that unit.

Surratt sustained the injury during the first quarter on a kickoff, and he will not return to Sunday's game after being evaluated by medical staff. Surratt recorded 28 total tackles (18 solo) over 17 games in 2024.
The 2021 third-round pick from North Carolina played a career-high 127 defensive snaps during the regular season after playing just nine defensive snaps over his first three seasons in the NFL. Surratt logged 15 or more defensive snaps in four games this year, recording 11 total tackles in those contests. He's set to become a restricted free agent this summer, giving the Jets the option to match any contract he receives from other teams. If Surratt remains with the Jets in 2025, he's expected to serve as one of the team's top reserve inside linebackers.
