Anderson will undergo season-ending surgery after dislocating his knee during practice Tuesday, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Anderson was considered a longshot to make the final roster, so his expected absence for the entire 2022 campaign shouldn't affect Houston's depth chart at running back. The 5-foot-11, 212-pound back has yet to record an NFL carry after spending the last two seasons on the Colts' and Cowboys' practice squads.

Texans' Darius Anderson: Heads to IR
The Texans placed Anderson (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday.
The third-year running back is slated to undergo surgery after he suffered a season-ending knee dislocation during Tuesday's practice. Anderson spent the last two years with the Colts' and Cowboys' practice squads before signing with Houston this offseason.

Texans' Darius Anderson: Charges dropped
The Harris County District Attorney's office dismissed the burglary charges against Anderson on Friday because of insufficient evidence, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.
With the charges against him dropped, Anderson can shift his focus back to trying to earn a spot on the Texans' roster. He's fighting an uphill battle in that regard in a crowded backfield led by Marlon Mack, Rex Burkhead and rookie fourth-round pick Dameon Pierce.

Texans' Darius Anderson: Arrested last Friday
Anderson was arrested and charged Friday for burglary with the intent to commit assault and theft, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Anderson signed a reserve/future contract with the Texans in January after joining their practice squad last December. The 24-year old has also spent time with the Cowboys' and Colts' practice squads since going undrafted out of TCU in 2020, but he has yet to appear in an NFL game.
