Jackson (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Jackson injured his ankle last Sunday against the Giants and had already been ruled out for this Sunday's Week 15 game against Washington. With his move to IR, the linebacker is now ineligible to return during the regular season. Jackson finishes the NFL campaign with a career-high 14 tackles (eight solo) while playing primarily on special teams.

New Orleans' 2022 fifth-round selection spent all of his rookie season on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury suffered before the season, but it seems like he's since moved past the issue. Jackson won the 2021 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year, racking up 119 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks for Appalachian State that season. Barring any setbacks, expect the second-year linebacker to compete for a depth role on the Saints defense in 2023.

It's not clear what injury Jackson is dealing with, but the move means he'll be shut down for the entirety of the 2022-23 season unless he works out an injury settlement with the team.
