DeeJay Dallas: Back to practice squad
Dallas reverted to the Panthers' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL transaction log.
Dallas was active for the first time since Week 6 after being elevated from the Panthers' practice squad. He logged 16 special teams snaps in Monday's loss to the 49ers but did not record a stat.

Panthers' DeeJay Dallas: Elevated to face 49ers
The Panthers have elevated Dallas from the practice squad to the active roster for Monday's contest against San Francisco, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Dallas has previously appeared in two regular-season games with Carolina this year, having been a part of the team's active roster at the time. In that span he primarily contributed in the return game, and he logged just one carry for zero yards on offense. Versus the 49ers, Dallas figures to similarly handle a reserve role behind Rico Dowdle, Chuba Hubbard and Trevor Etienne while potentially also fielding kickoff returns. He'll revert to the practice squad after Monday's contest.

DeeJay Dallas: Staying in Carolina
The Panthers signed Dallas to the practice squad Tuesday, Kassidy Hill of the team's official site reports.
Dallas was released from the Panthers' active roster Saturday, but the 2020 fourth-rounder has opted to stay in Carolina as a member of the team's practice squad. He would be a top candidate to be elevated to the Panthers' 53-man roster if Rico Dowdle, Chuba Hubbard or Trevor Etienne were to miss time due to injury, illness or suspension. Dallas played for the Panthers in Weeks 5 and 6 and accumulated 141 kick return yards.

DeeJay Dallas: Dropped by Carolina
Dallas was released by the Panthers on Saturday, Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340 reports.
The veteran running back was a healthy scratch in each of the Panthers' last two games, so it's no surprise that he was let go Saturday. Dallas appeared in two games and played 49 total snaps (33 on special teams, 16 on offense) for Carolina this season, recording 141 kick-return yards. He'll likely return to the Panthers' practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Panthers' DeeJay Dallas: Inactive for second straight game
Dallas (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Dallas will be in street clothes for the second straight game while the Panthers go with Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle and Trevor Etienne as their available running backs. Over his two appearances with Carolina this season, Dallas primarily served as a kickoff return man, but the Panthers appear to be comfortable with Etienne handling those duties for the time being.

Panthers' DeeJay Dallas: Gets first carry with Carolina
Dallas carried once for zero yards and returned one kickoff for 28 yards in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Cowboys.
For the second straight week, Dallas suited up as the Panthers' No. 3 running back behind Rico Dowdle and Trevor Etienne while Chuba Hubbard (calf) remained sidelined. Dallas ended up playing four snaps on offense -- just four fewer than Etienne -- but Dowdle once again dominated the playing time while accounting for 34 of the 38 touches from the Carolina backfield. If Hubbard returns for the Panthers' Week 7 game against the Jets, Carolina will likely keep just one of Dallas and Etienne active for the contest, with either running back expected to see most of his playing time on special teams.

Panthers' DeeJay Dallas: Signs with active roster
The Panthers signed Dallas off their practice squad Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
The 27-year-old running back signed with Carolina's practice squad after failing to make the Cardinals' initial 53-man roster in late August. However, Dallas has now been promoted to the active roster and will likely operate in a depth role in the Panthers' backfield, playing behind Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle and Trevor Etienne.

DeeJay Dallas: Signs with Carolina
The Panthers signed Dallas to their practice squad Thursday, Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340 reports.
The Cardinals released Dallas earlier in the week. The veteran running back appeared in all 17 regular-season games with Arizona last season, rushing nine times for 49 yards while catching three passes for 11 yards and one touchdown. Most of Dallas' contributions came on special teams, where he returned 15 kickoffs for 459 yards and one touchdown.

DeeJay Dallas: Released by Arizona
Dallas was released by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official website reports.
Dallas appeared in all three preseason games with Arizona, turning seven carries into 13 rushing yards and two catches into 11 yards through the air. The running back also compiled 129 yards on five kick returns, which is something he specialized in with Arizona in 2024, recording 459 yards and a score on kick returns over 17 regular-season games. Dallas will likely find a new team in the near future.

Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Mostly used on special teams
Dallas tallied nine carries for 49 yards and no touchdowns, three catches (on three targets) for 11 yards and one TD and 15 kick returns for 459 yards and another score in 17 games during the 2024 campaign.
Dallas took advantage of the NFL's new kickoff rules, reeling off a 98-yard TD return in a Week 1 loss at Buffalo. He was limited to special teams through Week 8, but as injuries took a toll on the Arizona backfield down the stretch, he earned touches in each of the last four contests. He's under contract through 2026, but with James Conner (knee), 2024 third-rounder Trey Benson (ankle) and Emari Demercado (back) also on the books, Dallas should remain primarily a special teamer.

Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Active Sunday
Dallas (illness) is listed as active Sunday at Carolina, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Dallas came down with an illness late during Week 16 prep and didn't practice Friday, but it won't stop him from being available to the Cardinals' offense this weekend. The backfield won't have the services of Emari Demercado (back, IR) or Trey Benson (ankle, inactive) on Sunday, so Dallas and the elevated Michael Carter will be the RB options behind starter James Conner. Dallas has eight carries for 27 yards on the season.

Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Set for backup role behind Conner
Dallas is one of two healthy running backs on Arizona's 53-man roster as of Friday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Dallas stepped in as the backup last week with Emari Demercado (back) on injured reserve and Trey Benson then suffering an ankle injury. Benson has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Carolina, leaving only Dallas on the active roster behind workhorse starter James Conner. Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon didn't say Friday if he plans to call up Michael Carter and/or Tony Jones from the practice squad Saturday. Either way, Dallas doesn't figure to get many touches on offense unless Conner suffers an injury or the game becomes a blowout.

Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Questionable due to illness
Dallas didn't practice Friday due to an illness and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Carolina, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
The Cardinals placed running back Emari Demercado (back) on injured reserve last week and now won't have position mate Trey Benson (ankle) available for Week 16. That left Dallas as the only other RB on the active roster aside from starter James Conner, but the former now is under the weather two days before a game. If Dallas isn't able to suit up Sunday, Michael Carter and Tony Jones are eligible to be elevated from the practice squad, but such transactions will need to occur by Saturday afternoon.

Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Earns four carries Sunday
Dallas turned four carries into 15 yards during Sunday's 30-17 victory against the Patriots.
Emari Demercado's (back) placement on injured reserve Saturday set up Dallas for his third outing of the season with offensive snaps, and rookie third-round pick Trey Benson also exited early due to an ankle injury, allowing Dallas to double up his touch count so far on the campaign. Overall, though, Dallas is averaging 3.4 yards on his eight rushes and hasn't been targeted in 14 appearances. Even if Benson is inhibited or inactive this coming Sunday at Carolina, Dallas likely wouldn't see much work behind workhorse RB James Conner.

Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Plays strictly special teams Week 15
Dallas played all 19 of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 30-18 loss to the Seahawks.
Dallas carried three times for 10 yards on the Cardinals' final drive of a 31-6 blowout win over the Jets in Week 10, but he hasn't seen any snaps on offense in any of the Cardinals' three games following a Week 11 bye. He'll likely remain relegated strictly to special teams over the final four contests of the season so long as all of James Conner, Trey Benson and Emari Demercado are available.

Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Questionable to return
Dallas is considered questionable to return to Sunday's game versus the Bears due to a shin injury, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
The severity of Dallas' shin injury is unknown at this time. If he is unable to return, his absence is not expected to impact Arizona's offense, as he is primarily a special teams contributor.

Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Role contained to special teams
Dallas gained 23 yards on his lone kickoff return in Monday's 17-15 win over the Chargers.
Dallas is the fourth running back on Arizona's depth chart behind James Conner, Emari Demercado and Trey Benson, and with all three players above him enjoying good health thus far, the Cardinals haven't needed Dallas' services on offense. All 106 of the snaps Dallas has played this season have come on special teams, where he's settled in as Arizona's top kickoff returner. Through seven games, Dallas has brought back 12 kicks for 378 yards and a touchdown, which came back in the season-opening loss to the Bills.
