Grace recorded six total tackles during Thursday's 22-10 loss to the Jets.
Falcons radio play-by-play commentators Wes Durham and Dave Archer marveled over the body of work that Grace has put on film during the preseason, and noted that he's done enough to this point to keep his name in consideration for a roster spot. Grace has accumulated a team-high 16 tackles in exhibition outings against the Broncos, Dolphins and Jets, while also accounting for half a sack and a 19-yard interception return.

Grace collected five tackles and half a sack during Thursday's 14-10 preseason loss to Denver.
Grace only appeared in one regular-season game last year (for Seattle), but it's performances like the one he put on Thursday night that could help him become a member of an active NFL roster in the near future. It could be in Atlanta that he gets that opportunity -- a place where he suited up for five games in 2017, and participated as a member of the practice squad in 2018. The primary barrier to him getting defensive snaps would be Bruce Carter, a veteran with 36 career starts who will be challenging to overcome for the backup middle linebacker job.

Jermaine Grace: Signed to Falcons' practice squad
Grace joined Atlanta's practice squad on Thursday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. In a corresponding move, the team waived linebacker Richie Brown.
The second-year man returns to Atlanta, where he played five games and served as a member of the team's practice squad in 2017. More recently Grace had stints with the Browns and Seahawks, who waived the 24-year-old linebacker earlier this week. He'll provide developmental depth for a linebacker corps that has been depleted by an early-season injury to Deion Jones (foot).
