Bears' Cole Kmet: Snags TD in upset victory
Kmet brought in all three targets for 36 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 24-15 win over the Eagles on Friday.
Kmet led the Bears in receiving yards on a day when Caleb Williams completed under 50.0 percent of his passes and threw for only 154 yards. The veteran tight end also was on the receiving end of Williams' only scoring toss, recording a 28-yard TD with just over six minutes remaining to extend a 17-9 lead. However, Friday marked just the second multi-reception tally over the last seven games for Kmet, so he remains difficult to trust in a Week 14 road matchup against the Packers on Sunday, Dec. 7.

Bears' Cole Kmet: Usage remains limited
Kmet caught one pass for three yards on one target in the Bears' 31-28 win over the Steelers on Sunday.
Kmet is coming off a season-high five catches for 45 yards last week, but he has 10 or fewer yards and two or fewer targets in five of his last six games, including one target Sunday. With Colston Loveland taking on the lead receiving tight end role, Kmet profiles as touchdown-dependent tight end depth.

Bears' Cole Kmet: Paces team in receiving in win
Kmet caught all five of his targets for 45 yards in the Bears' 19-17 win over the Vikings on Sunday.
Kmet dealt with a back issue during the practice week, but it clearly didn't hamper him in Chicago's victory, as the veteran tight end paced the team in catches and receiving yards while finishing tied for second with his five targets. Kmet has just one touchdown on the season and has yet to reach 50 receiving yards in a single contest. He's recorded 16 catches for 192 yards and one score on 28 targets through nine games.

Kmet upgraded to full participation Thursday after being limited by a back injury Wednesday, putting him on track to suit up Sunday against the Vikings. Rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland has overtaken Kmet as the primary option at tight end in Chicago's passing game.

Kmet cleared the concussion protocol in time to suit up for Chicago's comeback win over the Giants in Week 10, but he appears to have sustained a back injury during that contest. If the veteran tight end is able to resume handling full reps Thursday and/or Friday, he'll have a solid chance to avoid carrying an injury designation entirely for Sunday's road matchup against the Vikings. Kmet has drawn two or fewer targets in four consecutive appearances, with most routes for the tight end position instead going the way of rookie Colston Loveland.

Fantasy interest in Kmet himself is perhaps at an all-time low, but his return could have an impact in the form of fewer snaps and routes for rookie Colston Loveland, who put up 118 yards and two TDs at Cincinnati last week. The Bears face another vulnerable defense this Sunday, so Loveland should still have some opportunities even if he cedes some playing time to Kmet.

Kmet (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Kmet was forced out of this past Sunday's 47-42 win over the Bengals and was later diagnosed with a concussion, but he appears to be making rapid progress through the five-step protocol. After opening Week 10 prep Wednesday as a limited participant, Kmet has taken another step forward by practicing fully Thursday. He'll still need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to suit up this weekend, but he appears to have a real chance at being available for Sunday's game against the Giants. If Kmet plays, however, he may have to settle for a smaller role than he's handled for most of the season; rookie tight end Colston Loveland broke out with a 6-118-2 receiving line on seven targets in the win over the Bengals and may have earned himself a larger share of the playing time as a result.

Kmet left this past Sunday's game at Cincinnati in the second quarter and eventually was diagnosed with a concussion. That he's already able to mix into some drills just three days later signifies that he's progressing well through the protocol for head injuries, but he'll still need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to play Sunday against the Giants. Rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland, who broke out with six catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns Week 9, is poised to have a larger role moving forward no matter when Kmet suits up again.

Kmet won't return to Sunday's contest at Cincinnati due to a concussion, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Kmet paid a visit to the sideline tent in the second quarter and then went to the locker room before the Bears announced that he was being checked for a concussion. Kmet (back) was a full practice participant Friday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Kmet will return from a one-game absence and likely continue rotating with rookie Colston Loveland, who caught three passes for 38 yards in the loss to Baltimore last week. A favorable matchup with the Bengals should lead to some TE production, but it's hard to say which guy will come out ahead in terms of snaps and routes, never mind targets.

After missing the first game of his career in this past Sunday's loss to the Ravens, Kmet has opened Week 9 prep with a pair of limited sessions. If he can upgrade to full participation Friday, Kmet should be in good position to reclaim his usual duties as the Bears' starting tight end. While Kmet was sidelined this past weekend, rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland played a season-high 81 percent of the snaps on offense and finished with three catches for 38 yards on five targets.
