Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Goes on IR
The Raiders placed McCormick (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday.
The ankle injury that McCormick sustained in Monday's 15-9 loss to the Falcons will keep the running back sidelined for the final three games of the season. With Zamir White (quadriceps) also on IR, Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullahare poised to lead the team's backfield down the stretch, with Dylan Laube and Chris Collier in reserve. McCormick -- who is under contract with Las Vegas through 2025 -- finishes his 2024 campaign with 39 carries for 183 yards and six catches on seven targets for 29 yards in five contests.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Not expecting to return in 2024
McCormick (ankle) said Tuesday in a story posted on his personal Instagram account that he plans to "be back next season."
The Raiders haven't provided any updates on the severity of the ankle injury that forced McCormick out early in the second quarter of Monday's 15-9 loss to the Falcons, but the running back seems to think he won't be available for the final three games of the season. The ankle injury comes at a particularly tough time for the 2022 undrafted free agent. McCormick didn't receive his first NFL carries until Week 12 of this season, but he performed well enough for head coach Antonio Pierce to name him the team's starter. Though he averaged a healthy 4.7 yards per carry on 39 totes through five games with the Raiders, McCormick probably won't be guaranteed a meaningful role heading into 2025, as Las Vegas is likely to seek upgrades to its backfield during the offseason.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Won't return to Week 15 contest
McCormick (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's matchup against Atlanta.
McCormick was injured on a one-yard carry in the second quarter. He was deemed questionable to return ahead of Las Vegas' next offensive drive, then ruled out after halftime. McCormick logged eight yards on seven carries along with 17 yards on two receptions prior to exiting. The Raiders backfield will consist of Alexander Mattison, Ameer Abdullah and Dylan Laube for the remainder of the game.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Questionable to return to MNF
McCormick injured his ankle in Monday's Week 15 game against Atlanta.
McCormick had his ankle rolled up on during a second-quarter carry and went to the locker room shortly thereafter. The Raiders announced near the midway point of the period that he's questionable to return. Prior to his exit, McCormick rushed seven times for eight yards and caught both of his targets for 17 yards. If McCormick is unable to return Monday, Alexander Mattison figures to work as Las Vegas' lead back, with Ameer Abdullah contributing behind him.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Secure as top man in backfield
Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said Wednesday that McCormick will start Monday's game against the Falcons, even if Alexander Mattison (ankle) is cleared to play, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Pierce said Mattison will "probably" return from his three-game absence this week, but McCormick appears to have earned the lead role after performing well since Week 12. During the past three contests, McCormick has carried 32 times for 175 yards (5.5 YPC) to go with four catches for 12 yards, with his efficiency on the ground far surpassing what Mattison has provided this season when healthy (3.3 YPC on 97 totes over 10 games). With Mattison and Ameer Abdullah primed to fill backup roles out of the backfield and Zamir White (quadricep) on injured reserve, McCormick will look to string together a few more quality appearances to close out the 2024 season with the hope of entering 2025 with a meaningful role.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Impressive showing in loss
McCormick rushed 15 times for 78 yards and brought in two of three targets for 11 yards in the Raiders' 28-13 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
McCormick took full control of the Raiders' ground game in the absences of Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadriceps), putting together his second straight efficient performance with the help of a team-long 29-yard run. McCormick's opportunities were somewhat limited by game script, making his numbers all the more impressive. With 142 rush yards on 27 carries over his last two games, McCormick appears likely to serve as the top back again in a Week 15 home matchup against the Falcons on Monday night, Dec. 16, irrespective of the status of his pair of injured teammates.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Another expanded role may await
McCormick is expected to work in a timeshare out of the backfield Ameer Abdullah in Sunday's game at Tampa Bay due to Zamir White (quadricep) being ruled out and with Alexander Mattison (ankle) listed as questionable but considered unlikely to play, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
The Raiders also have rookie sixth-round pick Dylan Laube on hand as another option at running back, though he played exclusively on special teams while Mattison and White were both out the previous two games. McCormick, meanwhile, was elevated from the practice squad for both contests and carried 17 times for 97 yards (5.7 YPC) to go with two receptions for one yard between those games. Though he has comfortably outpaced McCormick in snaps in both games and has been the superior pass-catching threat (seven receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown on eight targets), Abdullah is averaging just 3.7 yards on his 18 totes over the past two weeks, which could compel the Raiders to give McCormick more work on the ground Sunday. Las Vegas signed McCormick to its 53-man roster Tuesday, potentially giving him some security if one or both of White and Mattison is able to return to the mix later on this season.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Gets roster spot
The Raiders signed McCormick off their practice squad Tuesday.
Wide receiver DJ Turner (knee) was placed on injured reserve to open up a spot on the 53-man roster for McCormick, an undrafted rookie out of UTSA who had already exhausted his three practice-squad elevations. With Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadricep) both sidelined for Las Vegas' past two games, McCormick operated as the No. 2 back behind Ameer Abdullah for both contests, carrying 17 times for 97 yards (5.7 YPC) and recording two catches for one yard. Though Mattison and White could both be available for this Sunday's game at Tampa Bay, neither player has been efficient with his opportunities this season, so McCormick could continue to have a role out of the backfield.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Reverts to practice squad
McCormick reverted to the Raiders' practice squad Saturday, per the NFL's transaction log.
With Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadriceps) both inactive for Friday's game against the Chiefs, McCormick was thrust into backup running back duties behind Ameer Abdullah. McCormick finished Friday's game with 12 carries for 64 yards while adding two catches for one yard, and he played 26 snaps on offense while Abdullah led the Raiders' backfield with 42 offensive snaps. McCormick has an opportunity to reprise his backup role for Week 14 against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Dec. 8 if both Mattison and White were to be sidelined for that contest.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Strong showing in extended duty
McCormick rushed 12 times for 64 yards and brought in both targets for one yard in the Raiders' 19-17 loss to the Chiefs on Friday.
McCormick led the Raiders in rushing yardage, logging two additional carries and 25 more rushing yards than backfield mate Ameer Abdullah. McCormick had just seen his first five career touches Week 12 against the Broncos and had been similarly efficient with a lighter workload, recording 33 yards on five carries on just eight snaps. The UTSA product, who twice rushed for over 1,400 yards in college, has undeniably shown promise, but it remains to be seen what his role will be if both Zamir White (quadriceps) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) are available for a Week 14 road matchup against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: In Week 13 backfield mix
McCormick is active Friday against the Chiefs along with fellow RBs Ameer Abdullah and Dylan Laube.
With both Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadriceps) inactive Friday, McCormick -- who logged eight offensive snaps and carried five times for 33 yards in the aforementioned duo's absence this past Sunday against the Broncos -- will have an opportunity to see added work alongside Ameer Abdullah. In that context, McCormick represents a possible fantasy dart for those scrambling for Week 13 running back help.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Elevated again for Week 13
McCormick was elevated from the Raiders' practice squad Thursday ahead of Friday's contest against the Chiefs.
McCormick's elevation is his second in as many weeks and his third overall this season. With both Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadriceps) out Sunday versus Denver, McCormick logged eight offensive snaps and carried five times for 33 yards. White has been ruled out again this week, but Mattison is questionable to play. If the latter suits up, McCormick could see even fewer opportunities to take the field Friday.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Moves back to practice squad
McCormick reverted to the Raiders' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
With Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadriceps) inactive for Sunday's 29-19 loss to the Broncos, McCormick was elevated for the contest and served as the Raiders' No. 2 RB behind Ameer Abdullah. Abdullah led the way with 13 touches for 65 yards from scrimmage and a receiving TD on a 90 percent snap share, while McCormick got the other 10 percent and turned five carries into 33 yards, and Dylan Laube was contained strictly to special teams. If one of Mattison or White is able to return Friday against the Chiefs, McCormick may not get the call for Week 13 action, but that won't be known until later this week.

Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Elevated for Week 12
The Raiders elevated McCormick from the practice squad Saturday.
With both Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quadriceps) listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Broncos, there's a path for McCormick to potentially see playing time in Week 12. Ameer Abdullah and rookie Dylan Laube are viewed as the favorites for backfield snaps should Mattison and White not gain clearance to play. McCormick's next offensive snap will be his first in the NFL.
