Rams' Kyren Williams: Records TD in Week 1 loss
Williams rushed 11 times for 41 yards and a touchdown and brought in all three targets for 24 yards during the Rams' 27-7 Week 1 loss to the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.
Williams worked in what was just one carry short of an even timeshare with Blake Corum in terms of rushing work, outpacing the latter by that one rush attempt and gaining 13 fewer yards in the process. However, Williams was the only one of the two to have a pass-game role, and he was the sole Rams player to cross the goal line in an alarmingly poor performance by the offense via a five-yard power run on the first play of the second quarter. It remains to be seen if the Week 1 division of labor will have staying power, with the next opportunity to see how matters play out coming in a Week 2 home matchup against the Giants on Monday night, Sept. 21.

Rams' Kyren Williams: Expected to be part of RB timeshare
The Athletic's Nate Atkins believes the Rams will continue to use a backfield timeshare with Williams and Blake Corum this season.
Neither Williams nor Corum saw any action this preseason, as the Rams are notorious for resting their starters every summer, so it was difficult to get a clear picture of the backfield situation outside of practice. By all accounts, the Rams want to up Corum's usage after he saw double-digit touches once in the first six games of 2025, but seven times in the subsequent 11 regular-season contests. Working in Williams' favor, however, is coach Sean McVay's preference to use him near the goal line and on passing downs. Even with the talk of Corum getting more work, Williams appears to have a strong fantasy floor in one of the NFL's most potent offenses.

Rams' Kyren Williams: Impressing at training camp
Williams has been consistently finding holes through the defense at training camp, Brock Vierra of Rams Wire reports.
Williams is set to share the backfield with third-year pro Blake Corum again in 2026, but that may be to his benefit if it helps him stay fresh as a dual-threat running back in the Rams' offense. The 25-year-old Williams surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for a third straight season in 2025, turning 259 carries into 1,252 yards and 10 touchdowns while also securing career bests through the air with 36 catches for 281 yards and three scores. Williams has been breaking loose for big runs in camp, showing his explosive ability as a runner, and he'll look to further elevate his numbers in Year 5 with Los Angeles.
