Draft Scouting Report
Evan Beerntsen is a seasoned interior lineman who brings championship experience and veteran leadership to the trenches. A two-time national champion at the FCS level before moving to the Big Ten, he is a reliable blocker with a blue-collar work ethic. While still developing consistency against top pass rushers, his ability to move in space and finish at the second level makes him a high-floor developmental prospect.
- 2022-23: Two-time FCS national champion at South Dakota State
- Career: 60 games played (55 starts) at RG
- Dominant second-level blocker who clears out linebackers on combo plays.
- Strong lateral movement and comfort in zone-blocking schemes.
- High football IQ with improved awareness identifying defensive stunts.
- Tendency to play over his toes, leading to balance issues.
- Can struggle to anchor when pad level rises.
- Susceptible to twitchy rushers who win with quick lateral moves.

Ravens' Evan Beerntsen: Snared by Ravens
The Ravens selected Beerntsen in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 253rd overall.
Beerntsen spent six years at South Dakota State -- where he started 47 games -- before transferring to Northwestern for his final year of eligibility in 2025. He'll turn 26 years old in September, but he showed enough athleticism at 6-foot-4, 301 pounds to get a chance in the NFL. Beerntsen will serve as a reserve option if he makes the 53-man roster in Baltimore.
