Lamb was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Lamb was playing only sporadically for the team and hadn't started in the last four games. He had a clause in his contract that allowed him to be optioned within 45 days of the start of the regular season, so the team was facing a decision on Lamb's status in the coming days.
