Kavadas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Kavadas' grip on a strong-side platoon role may be slipping down the stretch; he'll hit the bench Wednesday for the second time in the Angels' last three matchups with right-handed pitchers. He'll cede his spot in the lineup to Matt Thaiss, who picks up a start at catcher while top backstop Logan O'Hoppe gets a day off behind the dish but sticks in the starting nine at designated hitter.
