Escobar (oblique) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
The Angels face right-handed pitchers Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during their upcoming series against the Athletics, so they are not going to rush Escobar back into the lineup in the immediate future. He's scheduled to appear in rehab games Tuesday and Wednesday and could then be activated from the disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Rangers.
