Machado signed a minor-league contract with the Astros on Tuesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Machado's deal includes an invitation to big-league camp. The 30-year-old has a strong defensive reputation but offers very little at the plate, hitting .226/.285/.292 in 177 career major-league games. He's unlikely to earn anything more than a bench role in Houston and would have minimal fantasy value even if he manages to secure a roster spot.
