Paredes (hamstring) will serve as the designated hitter and bat second against the Athletics on Monday.
Paredes sat for the Astros' last three games after straining his left hamstring against the White Sox on Thursday, but he's back in the lineup as the DH for Monday's series opener. He has gone 9-for-37 with four home runs and 10 RBI since the beginning of June.
