McCullers (forearm) won't be ready for Opening Day after suffering setbacks while rehabbing over the offseason, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
McCullers exited his ALDS start against the White Sox with what was called forearm discomfort at the time. He didn't pitch again in the postseason, though the Astros said he wasn't dealing with any structural damage. It now appears as though the injury is worse than the team original let on. When exactly he's likely to return is unclear, with manager Dusty Baker only noting that he was optimistic the righty would be able to pitch this season.
