Garcia was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Garcia was recalled July 27 and wound up getting starts in each of the past three games. He appeared to be overmatched in his 12 at-bats since rejoining Houston, failing to record a hit while striking out five times. With him heading back to Sugar Land and Yuli Gurriel (neck) landing on the IL, infielders Jacob Wilson and Taylor Jones now join the 26-man roster.
