The Astros optioned Ivey to Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Ivey, who made a 4.2-inning spot start for the Astros last May before spending the rest of the season in the minors, is expected to slot into the Sugar Land rotation to begin 2022 after missing out on a spot on Houston's Opening Day roster.
