Grimm confirmed Dec. 27 that he agreed with the Athletics on a minor-league contract, Tim Hayes of the Bristol Herald Courier reports.
The 32-year-old right-hander spent the 2021 campaign in the Mariners organization, logging a 4.37 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 47.1 innings at Triple-A Tacoma. Grimm previously spent portions of eight seasons in the big leagues between 2012 and 2020, compiling a 5.14 ERA over 310 career appearances (19 starts).
