Moreland (wrist) received a cortisone shot last week and still could require surgery this offseason, the team's official site reports.
The veteran landed on the injured list due to a tendon issue in his wrist Aug. 31, and he's running out of time to make a return before the end of the regular season. Team trainer Nick Paparesta acknowledged the need for a possible surgery "down the road", although the team and Moreland are set to wait out the effects of the cortisone shot for the time being before any further course of action is determined.
