The Blue Jays claimed Ramirez off waivers from Miami on Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Buffalo.

Ramirez will remain in Triple-A upon joining his new organization, though he will reclaim a 40-man roster spot. The 30-year-old righty has put up a 3.76 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 40.2 minor-league innings this season and could still be used as a depth piece in the big leagues if Toronto needs a fresh bullpen arm down the stretch. Jose Cuas was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
