Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Picks up first save
Fluharty turned in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Red Sox.
With Louis Varland, Jeff Hoffman and Tyler Rogers all having pitched in Toronto's previous two games, it was Fluharty who got the call with a one-run lead in the ninth inning Thursday. The southpaw made quick work of the heart of Boston's order, retiring the side on five pitches. Fluharty has been solid out of Toronto's pen this season -- he's allowed just three runs in his last 18.2 innings. Overall, he sports a 3.64 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and 38:12 K:BB across 29.2 innings this season.

Blue Jays' Trey Yesavage: Stumbles late
Yesavage didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Red Sox, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks over 7.1 innings. He struck out six.
Yesavage was stellar earlier, as he held Boston to just one hit through his first six scoreless innings. However, Yesavage allowed a run in the seventh before the Red Sox tied the game with back-to-back home runs to open the eighth. Despite the tough finish, it was a positive outing overall for the 22-year-old Yesavage, who had given up 11 runs in 10.2 innings while issuing eight walks in his previous two starts. Overall, he's 3-3 with a 3.76 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 53:25 K:BB across 10 starts (55 innings) this season. Yesavage is currently slated to face the Astros at home his next time out.

Blue Jays' Rhylan Thomas: Finds work with Toronto
Thomas signed a minor-league contract with the Blue Jays on Monday.
He reported to the Blue Jays' complex in Florida earlier this week to begin his time with the organization, but Thomas should eventually settle at Triple-A Buffalo. The 26-year-old outfielder had previously been part of the Mariners' and Astros' 40-man rosters earlier this season but had played exclusively at the Triple-A level for both organizations, slashing a collective .253/.304/.307 with two home runs and six steals across 184 plate appearances.

Blue Jays' Daulton Varsho: Return on Saturday not ruled out
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Thursday that Varsho (wrist) could be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Saturday, but he will "have to do a lot today and tomorrow" in order to make that happen, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Varsho resumed hitting this week as he works his way back from left wrist inflammation. If the outfielder is not quite ready to return to the active roster this weekend, he might need a rehab game or two in order to knock the rust off. Nathan Lukes and Myles Straw have been handling center field for Toronto since Varsho went down.

Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Could resume hitting soon
Santander (shoulder) could resume hitting within the next week, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Santander underwent surgery to repair the labrum in his left shoulder in February, but he "could definitely be a factor" for the Blue Jays by August, manager John Schneider said Thursday. A timetable for Santander's return won't become clearer until he's ready for a rehab assignment, and he will need the equivalent of a full spring training's worth of at-bats before being activated.

Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Rehab games around the corner
Sosa (wrist) could begin a rehab assignment next week, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Out since late May with a right wrist contusion, Sosa has been hitting and going through defensive drills as the Blue Jays' spring training complex in Florida. He is likely a week or so away from playing in games and should rejoin the Blue Jays around July 1.

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Rehab could be pushed to next week
Barger (elbow) might not begin a rehab assignment until early next week, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Barger continues to make progress with his right elbow inflammation but could need an additional few more days than expected to ramp up activities before he's cleared to play in games. He should still be able to return to the Blue Jays' active roster before the end of June.

Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Getting breather Thursday
Kirk is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Boston.
Kirk started behind the dish each of the last three games, so he will get some rest during Thursday's matinee. Brandon Valenzuela will start at catcher and bat eighth as the Blue Jays look to complete the series sweep.

Blue Jays' George Springer: Pilfers two bags in win
Springer went 0-for-3 with two stolen bases in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox.
The Blue Jays evidently liked seeing Mickey Gasper working behind the plate for Boston, as they went 5-for-5 on steal attempts against him during the game. Springer's thefts both came in the third inning after he was hit by a Jake Bennett pitch, but he was left stranded at third base by a Kazuma Okamoto groundout. Springer has just six stolen bases on the season to go along with a .212/.308/.369 slash line, seven home runs, 19 RBI and 22 runs in 52 contests, but three of those steals have come in the last two games.

Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Swipes three bags Wednesday
Gimenez went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI and three stolen bases in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox.
The Blue Jays evidently liked seeing Mickey Gasper working behind the plate for Boston, as they went 5-for-5 on steal attempts against him during the game. It was the third three-steal game of Gimenez's career, and his first since July 6, 2023 when he was still playing for Cleveland. It was also the 27-year-old infielder's fourth multi-hit performance in the last 10 contests, a stretch in which he's slashing .355/.394/.548 with three doubles, a homer, four RBI and six runs in addition to Wednesday's thefts.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Stretches out to 80 pitches
Bieber (elbow) built up to 80 pitches Wednesday in what's likely to be his final rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo, giving up five runs on seven hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out two.
The results weren't pretty, as Bieber served up homers to career minor leaguers Ryan Galanie and Andy Weber -- neither of whom are even on the 40-man roster for the White Sox -- but the veteran right-hander was sitting 91-92 mph with his fastball and topped out at 93.0 mph. With Max Scherzer (back) landing on the IL on Wednesday, the Blue Jays likely can't afford to give Bieber another rehab start to round into form. If he stays on turn, he lines up to make his 2026 big-league debut early next week at home against the Astros.

Blue Jays' Louis Varland: Shuts door for 14th save
Varland secured the save Wednesday against the Red Sox, striking out the side.
Varland made quick work of the scuffling Boston bats Wednesday, throwing all but one of his 10 pitches for strikes. After taking over closing duties from Jeff Hoffman earlier this year, Varland is running away with the job as 2026 has progressed. Through 40 innings, the 28-year-old right-hander boasts a 0.90 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 55:11 K:BB while going 14-for-14 in save situations.

Blue Jays' Simeon Woods Richardson: Finally gets into win column
Woods Richardson (1-7) notched the win Wednesday against the Red Sox, allowing no runs on three hits and three walks in three innings. He struck out one.
Woods Richardson landed only 28 of his 55 offerings for strikes, but he still managed to keep Boston off the board en route to getting into the win column for the first time this year. After being jettisoned by the Twins earlier this season, the 25-year-old right-hander is up to seven scoreless frames covering two outings in bulk relief with the Blue Jays. Even so, Woods Richardson has a 6.75 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 30:28 K:BB over 54.2 innings on the campaign and could be relegated to mop-up duties more frequently once Shane Bieber (elbow) is ready to make his season debut.

Blue Jays' Yimi Garcia: Will pitch again Thursday
Garcia (elbow) struck out the side Tuesday for Triple-A Buffalo and is scheduled for another rehab outing Thursday, reports Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca.
After recording a 13-pitch inning for Buffalo on Tuesday, Toronto is looking to carry out its original plan of getting Garcia into more minor-league action before he makes his season debut for the big-league club. The 35-year-old was originally placed on the 15-day injured list March 25 and then was transferred to the 60-day IL a month later. Garcia appeared in 22 games for Toronto during the 2025 regular season, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 25:12 K:BB through 21 innings.

Blue Jays' Yohendrick Pinango: Idle with lefty starting for Boston
Pinango is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
The left-handed-hitting Pinango will be on the bench once again Wednesday while the Red Sox send a lefty starter (Jake Bennett) to the hill for the second straight day. Toronto will roll out a starting outfield of Davis Schneider, Myles Straw and Jesus Sanchez from left to right in the penultimate game of the series.

Blue Jays' Nathan Lukes: Taking seat against lefty
Lukes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
With southpaw Jake Bennett on the bump for Boston, the left-handed-hitting Lukes will retreat to the bench after he had started each of the last seven games while going 8-for-28 (.286 average) with two runs and one RBI. Toronto will work with a starting outfield of Davis Schneider, Myles Straw and Jesus Sanchez from left to right.
