Hoglund (elbow) has been throwing off flat ground for four months and hopes to advance to mound work soon, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Hoglund was selected by the Blue Jays with the 19th pick in last year's draft despite the fact he'd undergone Tommy John surgery in May. He appears to be recovering on schedule and has been able to throw from 120 feet, but he'll need to stretch out to 150 feet before he gets back on a mound. A typical recovery timeline would see him miss the early part of the upcoming season, but he should be able to make his professional debut at some point over the summer.
