The Blue Jays designated Sanchez for assignment Friday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Sanchez was slashing .287/.324/.461 at the end of May, but he's managed just a .216/.308/.343 batting line since then and had started only three of the past 11 contests. His spot on the roster has been filled by Rudy Martin. With a $6.8 million salary, Sanchez is likely to clear waivers.
