The Diamondbacks designated Sanchez for assignment Saturday.
Sanchez will lose his spot on Arizona's active and 40-man rosters after going 2-for-15 with a walk and five strikeouts across six games since being claimed Sept. 14. Adrian Del Castillo will come up from the minors to replace Sanchez and could see time as the team's designated hitter.
