Jimenez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Jimenez had started in five of the previous six games, but he'll take a seat Wednesday as the Blue Jays go with Will Wagner and Ernie Clement as their starters at the middle-infield spots. The right-handed-hitting Jimenez has mostly been deployed on the short side of a platoon in the infield with either Wagner or Addison Barger, but Jimenez could lose out on that role when shortstop Bo Bichette (calf) returns from the injured list.
