Perkins is out of the lineup for the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Reds.
Perkins started the previous six games but will take a seat for Friday's matinee. He's gone 6-for-21 with two doubles, four walks, four RBI and three runs since returning from the injured list last week. Garrett Mitchell will instead start in center field against Cincinnati righty Nick Martinez.
