Yelich is expected to need three months of recovery time following a microdiscectomy, Jack Stern of Brewer Fanatic reports.
A microdiscectomy is a spine surgery which removes part or all of a bulging or herniated disc in the lower back. It's an injury Yelich has dealt with off and on for several years, and the hope is that he'll be able to put his back issues behind him after this. He is expected to be ready to roll for the start of spring training.
