VanMeter was reassigned Tuesday to the minor-league side of Brewers camp, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
VanMeter had been putting together an impressive spring, but he was always on the outside looking in for an Opening Day roster spot in Milwaukee. The 28-year-old slashed just .187/.266/.292 across 192 major-league plate appearances last season with the Pirates.
