The Diamondbacks optioned Alexander to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
He's clearing out to make room on the roster for Luis Guillorme, who was signed Tuesday. Alexander's latest stint in the majors lasted less than a week and he went hitless in 10 plate appearances.
