Pfaadt (8-7) took the loss Tuesday against the Mets, allowing eight runs (six earned) on eight hits and a walk while striking out six over 4.2 innings.
Pfaadt allowed two runs in the second inning, including a leadoff solo home run to Pete Alonso, and things completely imploded in the fifth. The Mets began the inning by reeling off five straight hits against Pfaadt, leading to three more runs before he was eventually pulled with the bases loaded. Jordan Montgomery, who was recently demoted to the bullpen, came in and allowed another three runs before finally getting out of the frame. Tuesday's loss was Pfaadt's first since June 19 despite him having a 6.29 ERA over his last six starts. For the year, he owns a 4.31 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 145:32 K:BB in 154.2 innings. Pfaadt lines up to face the Dodgers at home this weekend.
