Straily signed a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to spring training with Arizona on Thursday.
Straily spent the last two seasons in the KBO while serving as a starting pitcher for the Lotte Giants. Across 360.1 total innings in that span, Straily maintained a 3.22 ERA with 369 strikeouts across 360.1 innings. In an interview earlier this winter, Straily specifically mentioned using technology such as Rapsodo to improve his pitches while in the KBO. The last time Straily pitched in the major leagues, he posted a 9.82 ERA across 47.2 innings as a member of the Orioles. However, if he can carry over his recent success, Straily should have the chance to earn a spot with the big-league team given the current state of the Diamondbacks' rotation.
