McCarthy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
McCarthy appears to have emerged as a strong-side platoon player in left field, but he'll give way to Jorge Barrosa on Sunday even with the Twins sending a righty (Bailey Ober) to the hill. Since the start of September, McCarthy is hitting .261 with seven RBI.
