Marte is not in the Diamondbacks' starting lineup against the Padres on Wednesday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.
Marte will receive a day off after going 0-for-6 with two walks and a strikeout over the first two games of the series. He had a .770 OPS before the All-Star break but is slashing .200/.269/.329 with two home runs, eight RBI and a 5:15 BB:K in 18 games since the break. With Marte on the bench, Ildemaro Vargas will start at the keystone and bat sixth.
